CUSTOM WOOD BUILT TO YOUR SPECIFICATION
Dingewood makes it easier for architects and designers to specify high-end, prefinished wood for residential and commercial projects. Dingewood works directly from your architectural plans and project specifications. Wood species, grade, profile, dimensions, texture, color and coating system can be customized to meet the design intent and performance requirements of your project. Factory finishing provides a controlled, consistent result while reducing onsite labor, material waste and installation variables. We work with hardwoods and softwoods, including cedar, pine, alder and oak, and can apply your specified paint, stain or coating system.
AUTHENTIC COLOR—WITHOUT THE LIMITATIONS OF RECLAIMED WOOD
Our VOC-free reactive stains create authentic, naturally aged colors on new wood while preserving the visible grain and character of the selected species. This provides the distinctive appearance of reclaimed wood with greater consistency, availability and control over species, dimensions, profiles and quantities.
TWO WAYS TO WORK WITH DINGEWOOD
1. Complete Wood Package
Dingewood can source, mill, texture and factory-finish the wood according to your approved specifications and samples. Materials arrive ready for installation.
2. Support for Your Existing Millworker
When it makes more sense to use your existing millworker or subcontractor, we can supply the appropriate Weatherwood Stains and topcoats, assist with samples and provide application videos and technical support.
MATERIAL HEALTH & SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
|
As an architectural building-supply company, Dingewood is proud to support architects and designers with material options that advance healthier and more environmentally responsible spaces.
Our proprietary reactive wood stains are VOC-free. Where compatible with the project specifications, we can also apply low- or zero-VOC coating systems to support indoor-air-quality and low-emitting-material goals. Dingewood materials have been used on projects that earned LEED certification. Eligibility for individual LEED credits depends on the selected materials, supporting documentation and the project’s applicable rating system. |
FIRE-RETARDANT WOOD—BUILT TO PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS
When a project requires enhanced fire performance, Dingewood can coordinate third-party fire-retardant treatment as part of the custom wood order. Provide the required fire rating, testing standard, wood species, profile and application. We’ll source the appropriate treatment option and coordinate the lumber, milling, treatment and factory finish according to the architectural specifications. Treatment availability, compliance documentation, pricing and lead times are confirmed after the project requirements have been reviewed.
